Wouldn’t it be fun if you could see a map of everywhere you have shipped an eBay item? Not only would it be fun, but there would be an added benefit of knowing your top country or state you ship to! You could target those selected countries and make more sales. I have been using a new eBay app called My Store Maps that does just this. There are some pro’s and con’s with this app, but I have found out one interesting fact. It is providing international buyers confidence to buy from me. I find this funny because I really never looked at it this way before. I ship internationally all of the time, and although I rarely run into any trouble, I always have a small fear that I may get ripped off. I really never thought of the international buyer having the same fear!
My international sales have gone up because of this, and I am starting to see more repeat countries. It seems as if the countries that I have not shipped to before are still holding back, where the countries I have shipped to are increasingly buying. This app will be automatically added to the bottom of your new listings, and the buyer will have a chance to view a close up version of their country. They will also be able to click and see your feedback, adding an additional layer of confidence. Here are some pro’s and con’s
Pro’s
- You get to see where you have shipped your items around the world
- Builds buyers confidence in you as a seller
- Automatically loads to your new listings
- Free version available
- If you want more than just the American app, you have to pay a subscription fee
- It does not allow a printable version
- Pricing structure is a bit weird
Like I stated in the pro’s, you can get a free version of this app. It will only show the American map, and kind of defeats the purpose of this app. However the pricing changes depending on how many feedback you may have. I found this a bit odd, but if you have under 500 feedback, it is only $1.95 per month. It goes up from there, so check out the picture on the left showcasing the fees.

Can you use this if you don’t have a store and are just an individual seller on eBay?
Yep, you can be an individual seller and still use this. You do not need a store. Great Question!
Hi Tristan. Could you please show us the best way to fold and photo men’s polo shirts? I’m trying to do that right now, and I’m not sure what’s the best way. YOU are the authority on that, I think!
Hi Linda,
When taking a photo of a shirt, I don’t fold it. Here is what I do:
1. I lay it down flat on a wood floor
2. I fold one sleeve in, so its laying on the chest (making sure to not cover any logos)
3. When I take the picture, I use the view finder on my camera to make sure I am only taking a picture of the top of the collar, to half way down the shirt. Also, I try to not get both sleeves (only the one folded in)
4. I then take a picture of any logo and the tag
If I need to crop the photo, then I use a free service called befunky.com
Here is an example: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=160785202379#ht_803wt_1165
Hey Tristan
I just wanted to let you know that I signed up for your membership yesterday and really like the top find of the day. I found two of then today! That had already paid for the membership! Thanks dude
Thats great! I’m glad you were able to find a couple
Do you know if MyStoreMaps is keeping the old fee structure in place for existing customers? I’ve had MyStoreMaps in my store listings since 2009 and my fee is a yearly rate.
I may have to look into the free version for my non-store selling id.
