Have you ever wondered how you can get more sales on eBay? I think that same question every single day! Well, I have had a sudden realization, and I have fell in love with an eBay tool.
So picture this – I sell items across the world every single day. Australia, China, Europe, you name it – I probably have shipped there. I usually feel really good when I do ship an item so far away, but not to long ago I was trying to think how I can get more sales. Then I realized that I was missing out on some easy sales. I was too caught up thinking about selling to someone in Brazil, that I forgot about the people who live closest to me. What about my friends, family, and neighbors? I thought this would be easy. They all know I sell on eBay, but I have never shown them what I can offer. After about an hour conversation on the phone with my mother, I knew this would be harder than I thought. I tried to explain what I sell, but really I sell everything. I tried to have her look at my eBay store, but she couldn’t find it online.
So I had to figure out how my friends and family can see what I sell in an easy format. Along comes an eBay tool called PDF Catalog. This simple tool allows you to create your own catalog and it embeds your items right into a clean looking PDF. Once you open your catalog, you can scroll through the pages just like you would in a real catalog. All of your items are listed in a clean format, and they are all an active link. If your friend or family member sees an item that they like, they can click on it, and it will open up your item on eBays site. It’s flawless!
I’m not a huge fan of spamming my friends and family members with my inventory all of the time, so I post a link to the catalog once a month on facebook. Thats it. This works great, because every time a friend on facebook “likes” my catalog, they open up the catalog to all of their friends. My sales always go through the roof for about a week after that!
