*I am still having issues with emails being sent out. I have a team looking at it right now, and it should be fixed by Monday. Sorry for the inconvenience.
I get so excited when these promotions come around! Since I have started to batch my eBay listings, I really can take advantage of the Free List days. This actually started yesterday, but you still have plenty of time to through you your listings on eBay. The 3 day seller special is from April 26th through the 28th, and this time you are able to sell your item at a Fixed Price.
I really do LOVE free list days, and I tend to keep a lot of items that didn’t sell just to relist when these promotions come around. It’s funny because the price of listing something isn’t terribly high, but whenever I list items in a bulk I always get to see how much money I saved. It just feels good
. So what are the program details?
- Anyone who lists an item as a Fixed Price is eligible
- You can list a maximum of 5,000 items (no problem for me)
- You have to meet the minimum performance standards (seen HERE)
Seems pretty straight forward, and of course there are some categories that do not apply, but most do. So how much money is this going to save you? Take a look at the graphic outlined below:

Us users who have a basic store or even the non-store subscriber are the ones who will benefit the most from this promotion. This comes with great timing. Since mothers day is around the corner, buyers are going nuts with buying gifts. Do you want to know what is selling best for Mothers Day? Check out the 2012 Mother’s Day Hotlist HERE. eBay has a lot of information, and they know the trends of buyers using historical data. With that said, they really know what the buyer is looking for so you can trust that they would be advertising the most popular gift ideas. Although you may not have any items to sell that are on the list, you may be able to sell something similar. I also recommend that you are putting the words Mothers Day in your listing’s title and in your description.
On a personal note, if you are looking to send the one you love flowers on Mothers day, eBay is going to hook you up. You can order flowers from teleflora and enter the promo code EBAY15. This will get you a 15% discount on your order.
So list all of your items over the next two days, and save a lot of money. For more tips and tricks check out, The Keys to a Successful Ebay Business HERE

Woot Woot!! I am going to list tons of stuff tonight! Thanks Tristen. Also, I have not been receiving your emails this week.
Sorry about the email issues, I have a small team looking into this. Thanks!
So glad I found your site and you posted this!! I don’t know why, but I haven’t been getting any of the ebay email notifications like I used to when they had free listing days. I guess I could have been working on this yesterday but happy to see that it is still valid for today and tomorrow!
I didn’t get eBay’s message about this either.
I just went to relist an unsold item and found we get the free listing for as long a duration as we like (i.e. you can do “good until cancelled” listings for free.)
I wonder if having an ending date or time makes a difference with fixed price listings? I usually do 5-7 day auctions ending on Sunday night, but with this type of listing I’m just not sure what the best practice is.
Any opinions or experiences with this?
Karen, I was wondering the same thing! Especially with clothing, do more people like to bid rather than buy at a fixed price? I figured I would list everything I want to list at a fixed price and “good until cancelled” and then when ebay offers a free listing for auctions I could switch some of them over to auctions. i guess listing it at “good until cancelled” will get more exposure. I posted a question like this on ebay’s question board and one person suggested doing 60% fixed price and 40% auction style, but how do u decide? I’ve found that I’m selling less at a fixed price, but saving more in fees.
Well, I just sold one $20 piece of clothing doing one of these fixed price listings and I had an offer on another item that I’m going to accept. These were unsold items I had previously listed at auction. I’m so glad I check this blog daily!
I still would like opinions on my above question, but it appears people are searching for keywords and if you’ve got items listed they find them. I’m not a top-rated seller and I don’t have a store, so I wondered if anyone would even see these fixed price listings. I know a lot of people review auctions that are soon to end and I assume that’s how I get a lot of my auction buyers.
That’s great, Karen! To answer your question – I usually list all my items as a fixed price, and I have found that the end time is not as important. If I can, I still try to have them end on Sunday night, but its not a necessity. If I know that the item will sell fast I do a 3 day listing, other than that I tend to stick with 10 day listings or good until cancelled. Hope that helps
Awesome, thanks Tristen! It’s always good to have the opinion of someone more experienced. Makes you feel more confident.
