A Flip That Anyone Can Do

by Tristen OBrien on March 6, 2012

Last month I was looking at Fiverr.com, and I was trying to figure out how some of the sellers do what they do for only $5.  I utilize Fiverr all of the time because you can get some great work done for such a low price.  I started out on a quest to find out what the most successful gig on Fiverr was, and I was going to do it myself to make money.  After a few hours of research, I found that there are a few gigs that are ordered way more than others.  They are: I will get you (x amount) of Twitter follower for $5, I will get you (x amount) of Facebook fans for $5, and I will get you (x amount) of backlinks for $5.

I’m assuming buyers are wanting those services for their business, but I had no idea how people were offering these gigs.  Twitter, Facebook, and Backlinks (backlinks are links on another site that point to your own website) they are all really common, so I started to do some research.  As it turns out, the Fiverr sellers are using sophisticated software that can take hours to produce the results that they are offering.  The software can be really expensive, so thats when it hit me!

I don’t need to do the work, I can hire someone on Fiverr to do the work for me, and then I can sell it on eBay for a profit!  I will be like a contractor that hires out subcontractors to do the work.  I can just manage the whole process!  It worked… People on eBay are willing to pay 3 times as much for these services.  Fiverr is still really new, so many people are unaware that the same service can be done for only $5.  I look at Fiverr as a Goodwill store, they offer really low prices, and then I just flip them on eBay.

Lets take a look at some comparisons:

Those are just a couple, but you can search other gigs and check the eBay completed listings to see if its a money maker.  There are a couple things to remember when doing this.  Only use trusted sellers on Fiverr.  Fiverr has a rating system similar to eBay.  You can look at their feedback and reviews.  They also have Fiverr top rated sellers.  I would stick with those because they have been personally selected by Fiverr as trusted sellers!

Anyone can do this, so why not give it a try!

Ok so quick question, since you’ve done it. Ok, so do you list it first on ebay and then go and buy it from fiverr. I have been wanting to do this too, but didn’t know how that would work. Because when you buy it from fiverr, you need to give them the facebook or twitter account info right?

I post it on Ebay and wait for someone to by my auction, I then buy the fiverr gig after I receive my money from the Ebay buyer

Do you do any tangible products? Items that people need to ship? Just wondering if they would ship to a different address.

Hi, Tristen. I just completed reading your e-book, I am very excited to get started. The Goodwill store has it’s grand opening tomorrow in my area, so I will be there with your print out of items in hand.
What would it take to make 3-4k a month doing this?
What has been your best month?
Thanks
